Los Cristianos

A marvellous sweep of sand around a sheltered bay has turned Los Cristianos from a simple fishing village into a blossoming holiday resort.

Bliss for sun worshippers, most people head towards the beach, where they can try such varied water sports as windsurfing, water-sking or scuba diving, and children are well catered for with their own mini-playground and numerous other attractions right next to the beach.

In the area there are many International restaurants at very reasonable prices to suit all tastes, and some of the sea-facing cafes on the traffic free promenade are wonderful sun traps and an increasing number and variety of shops will meet everyone's needs.

Across the harbour, life continues almost unchanged for the local fishermen and from here ferries depart for the small island of La Gomera.

Los Cristianos is ideal for a peaceful holiday on an idyllic part of the island, whilst if you are looking for the bright lights, the adjoining resort of Playa de las Americas is only 5 minutes by taxi, or 30 minutes on foot.
